TREK OVIERVIEW: The Jomsom trek falls under the Annapurna
Circuit trek, the most popular trek in Nepal. Starting from
Pokhara, the Jomsom trek takes about a week with Muktinath as
its final destination. The return journey back to Pokhara can
either be made on foot or via an airplane.
Day 1 - Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport. Your Bhutanese representative from Raven Tours and Treks
will greet you on arrival and drive you to the hotel where you
will be staying.
Later Sightseeing tour of Swayambunth & Kathmandu Durbar
Square.
Swayambunath is one of the world's most glorious Buddhist Chaitya.
It is said to be 2000 years old. Painted on the foursides of
the spdire bases are the all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It
is three kilometeres west of Kathmandu city and is situated
on a hillock about 77 m. above the level of the Kathmandu Valley.
Kahmandu Durbar Square is the historic seat of ty. The Durbar
Square, with its old temples and places, epitomizes the religious
and cultural life of the people. It is here that Kings of Nepal
are crowned and their coronations solemnized. Interesting things
to seek here are; Taleju Temple built by King Mahendra Malla
in 1549 A.D., Kal Bhairav, the God of destruction, Nautalle
Durbar, Coronation Nasal Chowk, the Gaddi Baithak, the statue
of King Pratap Malla, the Big Bell, Drum and the Jagannath Temple.In
the evening welcome meal with Nepali traditional dance.
Later in the evening you will be taken to the typical Nepali
restaurant (Bhojan Grihia) for dinner and will be hosting traditional
dances.
Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2 - In Kathmandu
After breakfast proceed for city tour of Kathmandu visiting
Pashupatinath and Boudhanath.
Pashupatinath Temple is situated 5 km east of Kathmandu,
the temple of Lord Shiva, Pathupatinath with two tierd golden
roof and silver doors is considered one of the holiest shrines
of Hindus.
The stupa of Boudhanath lies 8kms east of Kathmandu.
This ancient colossal stupa is one of the biggest in the world
and the center of Buddhism in the world. It was listed in the
UNESCO Heritage Monument in 1979.
Later proceed for city tour of Kathmandu visiting Patan Square,
complex of palaces, courtyard and temples, built between
the 12th and 18th centuries, use to be the seat of the ancient
Malla kings of Kathmandu.
Later stroll around the city of Thamel.
Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3 - Kathmandu to Pokhara The Pokhara Valley one of the most picturesque spot of Nepal,
is enchanted by its lovely lakes Phewa, Begnas and Rupa. Situated
200 kilometers west of Kathmandu, Pokhara is connected by air
as well or by road from Kathmandu. Situated at an altitude of
827 meter from the sea-level, Pokhara offers the magnificent
views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, five peaks of Annapurna
and others. Pokhara's numerous lake, known as 'Tal' in Nepali
offer fishing, boating and swimming. Wake up early morning to
catch the sunrise over the Himalayan range.
Tourist bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The total journey will
take 7-8 hours or even you can take the cable car. On the way
visit to visit Manakamana Temple by cable Car. Manokamana is
believed to be a temple of goddess who fulfills the wishes.
Departure from Kathmandu bus station at 7 a.m.
Lugguga not used during your trek can be left at your hotel
or in our office.
Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 4 - Pokhara to Jomsom (2750m) to Kagbeni (2900m) Early morning 'mountain flight' from Pokhara airport to
Jomsom. After arrival check TIMS and Annapurna conservation
fee in Jomsom.
Total trek to Kagbeni will take around 3 hours. Teastop in Eklebatti.
After 1 hour from Jomsom you will have great views on Dhaulagiri
and Nilgiri behind you.
Kagbeni is a small village build in Tibetan style. It has a
nice monastery, and small streets, well worth to be explored.
From Kagbeni you will have a nice view to Thorung La mountain
pass and the mountains that surround the pass.

Day 5 - Kagbeni to Jharkot (3500m) to Muktinath (3800m) Total trek today will take around 5 hours. We will take
you to Jharkot, a village build on huge rocks, it has a small
monastery as well. From Jharkot it is around 1 hour to reach
Muktinath.
Overnight in Muktinath
Day 6 - Muktinath to Dzong to Kagbeni In the morning explore Muktinath, a famous pilgrimage place
in the Himalayas. Walk 15 minutes up and you will have great
views on Dhaulagiri and many other snow capped peaks. Near the
prayerflags is the best place to take pictures.
We will not follow the same route as yesterday but we will follow
the path at the other side of the valley.
Dzong is a very nice small village where we will stop for tea
or lunch.
Total time around 4-5 hours.
Overnight in Kagbeni.
Day 7 - Kagbeni to Marpha (2650m)
Follow the Kali Gandaki Valley slightly down to Jomsom. On the
way nice mountain views. From Jomsom we take you 1 hour further
to Marpha, one of the most nice villages in this part of the
Himalayas. Marpha is famous for its apple cakes! It also has
a big and new monastery worth a visit. Total time 4 hours.
Overnight in Marpha.
Day 8 -Marpha to Jomsom to Pokhara Early wake up and 1 hours walk to Jomsom. Flight back to
Pokhara, 25 minutes. Taxi to your hotel.

Day 9 - In Pokhara
Morning visit Sarangkot: At an altitude of 1592 meters,
this mountain sits north of Pokhara overlooking the valley and
Fewa Tal. Just a short 2 hour scenic trek through small villages
and jungle from the main tourist area of Pokhara, or a 45 minute
taxi ride.
Sarangkot is a beautiful village best known for its sunrise,
where on a clear day you can see an unobstructed view of the
Himalayan Mountains of Annapurna rang, Dhauligiri, Fishtail.
Another main attraction to Sarangkot is to spend an hour in
the sky paragliding with fantastic views of the mountains and
the city below.
To experience true Nepali culture, take a 3 hour tour around
Sarangkot and meet the locals and see how they live.
After breakfast at hotel boatride on Phewa lake and city tour.
Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 10 - Pokhara to kathmandu either via flight (25 minutes)
or bus(7-8 hours) Overnight in Kathamndu.
Day 11 - Depart from Kathmandu International Airport. Early breakfast at the hotel and then drive to the airport
to board the flight. Your escort from Raven Tours and Treks
will assist you with exit formalities and bid you farewell.
